2. Bidding

When the “time left” has run out, the Timed Auction is closed and the Lots are assigned to the higher bidder: the Timed Auction has no Live Session.

Conversely, on a Live Auction the customer has another opportunity to bid after the Absentee session, participating to the Live session of the auction, where each lot is closed sequentially in real time by the auctioneer when no new bid is received.

You can access to NN Auctions or to the NN Shop in 2 different way:

1) From the Home Page, clicking on Join our AUCTIONS or click on Enter the SHOP

2) From the Home Page and from Any Other Page of the NN Website, clicking on NN Auctions link on the Main Menu or clicking on Shop link in the same Main Menu.

The Upcoming/In Progress Live Auctions are listed in our Auction Page which you can see below:

Click on View Catalogue in our  Auction Page to see the Catalogue Page, with the list of the coin with their short description. Starting Bid and Current Bid, if any, are showed.

If you like, you can check the box on the right of each item to select items that you want to add to your personal Watchlist. Click the Add to watchlist button to include the selected items in your watchlist. Please note that items where you bid are automatically added to your watchlist.

Clicking on Auction Info on the top left of the Catalogue Page, makes you enter in the Auction Info Page where you can find all the information about the Auction, including a brief description of the selection proposed, date/time of the auction, bid increments, shipping costs, terms and conditions, etc.

In order to submit a bid before the end of the Auction or to participate to the Live Auction when it is run, you need to ask to NN to be registered, clicking the Register to bid! Button.

Please consider that your request to be registered has to be placed at least:

– 72 hours before the Live session of a Live Auction starts or the Timed Auction ends, for customers which have never bid to any NN Auction, in order to allow NN to check their references,

– 12 hours before the Live session of a Live Auction starts or the Timed Auction ends, for customers just registered to previous NN Live auctions.

Clicking on the image of an item in the Catalogue Page you can enter the Item Page where you can see the detailed description of the item, review terms and conditions, register to bid, or submit a bid with your maximum bid, if you are already registered. In addition, if you like, you can ask a question to NN, add the item to your personal Watchlist or Tell a friend about the item (see links on the top right of the page)

When clicking the Register to bid! Button, you will be requested to enter or to confirm your Shipping Information in a specific box. After filling the form, you have to click Submit.

Then you are requested to review and re-accept the terms and conditions of the Live Auction. In addition the updated recommendations for PC and mobile devices to participate to the Live Auction are showed.

By clicking on Submit you’ll send your registration request to NN and the following message will be sent to your page in the NN Website

In the mean time an email will be sent to you from info@navillenumismatics.com to confirm you that NN has received your registration request for the Auction.
Once approved, you’ll receive an email from info@navillenumismatics.com, inviting you to participate in the Auction and providing a direct link to the Auction itself.

Once the auction registration has been completed and you have received the confirmation email, inside the Auction Page you will see  Approved in the Registration field of the auction you were requesting to bid on.

From now on, you can bid on each item of the auction, even if the day of the Live Auction is far away. The way to place a bid is the same for both Timed and Live Auctions. If the Live Auction has not yet started, in the Status field it appears Upcoming: in this case you can always submit an Absentee bid, entering, in the My max bid field, the maximum amount you are available to pay for that item and then clicking on Place Bid button. Please remember that your max bid cannot be lower than the Starting Bid of that item.

You will be always asked to confirm your bid clicking of the Confirm button

Then a pop-up window opens to confirm you that “Your bid has been placed successfully!” An email confirming your bid is immediately sent to your email address by info@navillenumismatics.com.

If the bid you placed is the highest one received till now, on the right of My Max Bid column, you will find “Your High Bid” in green color. Below your max bid you can also see the Current Bid, so the amount at which you are temporarily winning the item. In brackets the number of bidders that so far bid on that item.

If another bidder (Mattia in the example below) submits a bid (£ 380) lower than your max bid (£520), on the right of  his Max Bid, he will find “outbid!” in red color, while you will continue to find “Your High Bid” in green color. The only difference is that now the Current Bid, so the amount at which you are temporarily winning the item, increased to £390, so to the amount offered by the other bidder (£380) plus the bid increment planned for that amount (£10). With the other bidder offering, the number of bidders inside the brackets got 2.

If Mattia submits a bid of £600, so higher than your max bid (£520), on the right of  Your Max Bid, you will find “outbid!” in red color.  An email confirming your bid had been Outbid is immediately sent to your email address by info@navillenumismatics.com.

Now if you want to become again the temporarily winner, you must increase your bid: so click on Change bid button in the Catalogue page or in the Watchlist page or in the Bidding on page and make a new bid. Alternatively, if you like, you can enter in the Lot page submit your bid from there, as shown below:

If you enter your bid and then click on Change bid! button, you will be requested to confirm your bid. Then if you will be the highest bid, below of My Max Bid, you will find “Your High Bid” in green color.

If you go back in the Catalogue page, or in the Watchlist page, or in the Bidding on page, you can see there the updated situation of your item.

Don’t forget that in Timed Auctions Bidders can bid up to the “time left” has run out. Conversely, in Live Auctions, Absentee bidders can bid up to the start of the Live session of the Live Auction, only electronically through NN’s Website. After that, Absentee Bids are no more accepted (“bidding paused” appears). From that time on, the only opportunity to bid is to participate to the Live Auction.

When the Live Auction starts, the Lots are hammered and closed sequentially. In the Auction page, in the Status column, Upcoming will disappear and In progress will appear.

Entering the Catalogue of the auction, you will find a tab called “Live Sale” in green colorClick it to enter the Live Auction.

At this stage, if you try to submit an Absentee bid in the Catalogue, a message will invit you to join the “Live Sale Page” to place your bids.

Once you have entered the Live Sale page, you will find a screen like the following:

If other bidders offer, the price rises and you are Outbid. In this case the screen appears as follow:

a) In the upper right corner is the Audio player. Bidders can hear and manage in real time the voice of the Auctioneer. Please note that it does not appear yet on IOS and Android devices. It is work in progress for IOS and Android.

b) Under the Lot image you can see the Current Bid.  In the Big green button the system shows you the amount you have to bid to temporarily be the highest bidder. So to place your bid being the temporary winner, click on the green button BID £775 now!.

Once you push the green button, the green button will become dark red color with the word “You are the high bidder” inside. This situation will remains till the moment in which a new bid will be submitted to the system by another bidder or, alternatively, the Lot will be knock down to you.

You’ll also find your bid indicated in bold and green in the Message Center on the right side of the page.

If no one else will send a new bid, a countdown will start  from 3 to 1 to close the lot, making it appear the word Closed!!, . If another bid is received before the Lot being Closed, the countdown is reset to start from 3 again.

You will then find the lot you won in the Items Won section in My items page. An email confirming you win is immediately sent to your email address by info@navillenumismatics.com.
